For the last couple of years, I've gone with assorted friends to ATP, which is a music festival & is ace. Next year, we will of course be going again. Specifically to the 26-28 March weekend, curated by Mogwai, Tortoise, & Shellac.

Anyone fancy coming with? £110 per ticket (includes accommodation).

Further info:
Sorry, should have said a little more, for those as don't know ATP. It's held in a Pontin's holiday camp in Camber Sands, so you get to live in little chalets, with beds & a shower & a kitchen, for the weekend. And all the bands occur inside, so it doesn't matter if it rains. Also, there are go-karts! Yay. (And the *beds*. And *showers*.). The bar is open till 7am, & there's no backstage area, so the bands drink there too, which is nice. Plus there's always the living-room of your chalet to sit around & drink in.

The bands will almost entirely, based on the last couple of years' experience, be bands no one has ever heard of. The curators get to invite whoever they like, so you can extrapolate from what Tortoise, Mogwai & Shellac are like to what the other bands will be like. It's interesting, though, & you get some very random stuff (the Fall were invited both by Shellac in 2002 and by Autechre in 2003).

And there are beds. Did I mention the beds?

Ooh, yes, interested in that. Are there any rumours as to the line-up?

Okay, I'll try to be a little more helpful. I'm more interested in it from a social aspect than a musical one (though I have not doubt that the music will be good). Therefore, once you know who else is going in your cluster then I'll be better able to answer. Is that better?

That's the festival with hotel rooms rather than scummy campsites and dogs on string, yes?

I'd show some interest!

Ooer, yes please. 2000 (the last time I went) does feel like a very long time ago now.

I wouldn't be all that surprised if the Aphex/Plaid/bouncier end of Warp crew were back again. They played last time Mogwai curated, and went down very well indeed.

They would be making a rod for their own (and the curators') backs if they did.
