julietThis is pretty much perfect cycling weather. It's sunny (i.e. not raining), and there's just enough of a chill in the air that you warm up whilst cycling, & then cool nicely when stopped at traffic. There's also that feeling of internal warmth, but external chill, making your skin tingle slightly. I like the crispness of autumn air - I deal much better with this than with the heat we've had all summer.
Autumn, you will have noticed, arrived at approximately midday on Monday. Cycled to work in the morning thinking "goodness me, *still* damn warm, isn't it?". Looked out of the window at lunchtime to notice it pissing it down. kitty_goth at Borough tube. "Ah," I thought. "No more summer".
Went to Borough Market this lunchtime, & acquired a bag of russets. Russets are the best apples EVER & have a season of approximately 3 minutes, so I am happy now. Plus I had nice bread & homemade hummous for lunch.
In other news, I have also acquired new glasses. These are reasonably similar to the old ones, in both appearance & prescription, but have the advantages of not being scratched to buggery, & not being held together with blutack. Excellent.kitty_goth is of the opinion that they look nicer as well, so hopefully he's right.
