My tea keeps getting cold. I want a Thermos mug. Admittedly, this could also be affected by the fact that this office is bloody freezing (I am currently wearing a scarf, 2 jumpers, & my coat over my knees), but still.

In other news: [sigh]. Things suck. I'm just feeling *tired* about it all now. Really can't be bothered any more, and far from sure what the point is & why I've been trying.

On the upside, I am reading a book which is making my brain work (bit of a novelty atm), & I have bagels & pretend cream cheese. Cream cheese appears to be something that can be faked reasonably well. What vegan stuff can you put in sandwiches that goes with cream cheese? This will give me something other than hummous, Marmite, refried beans, & carrot&lentil pate to put in my sandwiches. NB I do not put all of the above in *at the same time* or anything.

Hmm. Cream cheese and Marmite. Am I sick & wrong?

Raisins go well with cream cheese (particularly nice with cinnamon bagels, I'd imagine), or for something more savoury you could put spring onions in.

Cucumber is good. And I bet you the marmite will work well.

Sympathy on the [stuff]. Hope things improve whatever it is. I'm feeling very can't-be-bothered about lots of things at the moment too, so possibly the time of year isn't helping. Soon have a break from work at least eh! Hope thy're not working you too hard over Christmas.

Chives. Non-spring onions (red or white). Crisps! Sweet chili sauce, if it's vegan or you can find it... it actually makes a yummy dip for nachos if you chuck philadephia (or equivalent) in a bowl and pour sweet chili sauce on top. Sounds sick, but it really works.

Everyone seems to be very down lately. I blame the time of year.

Have been experimenting with going to Plant for lunch. Obviously food very nice, if all a bit salty as previously established. Also feel self-righteous about eating healthily, if also a bit hungry.

I quite liked the restaurant bit, and I'd say the sandwichy bit is much the same. Portions seem slightly small.

I have been trying this eating more fruit, it seems good. Although if I'm not careful I may turn into a banana.

I've got that, I didn't get very far into it before I gave up.

Can probably lend you a paper copy if you want & it's where I think it is.

In case you hadn't seen it, there is some discussion (and links to video lectures) of Structure & Interpretation of Computer Programs at the Portland Pattern Repository's Wiki.

"I do not put all of the above in *at the same time* or anything."

Do so! They'd all go together and you'd have a towering colossus of a sandwich, add pesto and tabasco and avocado and mustard and tomato puree and brown sauce and gherkins. *nods*

Cream cheese and Marmite sandwiches are not sick and wrong! That's one of my favourite sandwich fillings ever. You can combine this with [livejournal.com profile] atommickbrane's suggestion of crisps, ideally ready salted, for an even more delicious snack.

But add watercress and you're onto a winner.

If you want a break from the whole sandwich-thing then maybe breadsticks to dip in a little pot of the cream cheese? My best friend from primary school Em, she didn't like bread so used to take 4 breadsticks and a little pot of ketchup into school for her lunchbox. Freak. I had jam sandwiches. :-)

where can the fake cream cheese be purchased? interesting.

Tofu and satay sauce can work in sandwiches.
