This made me laugh uncontrollably and at length (final 2 paras - specifically, the very last bit in italics). I'm still giggling.

PUB this evening with many fine folk: Pete, [livejournal.com profile] tkb, [livejournal.com profile] martling, [livejournal.com profile] marnameow, [livejournal.com profile] ali_anarres, & [livejournal.com profile] daneel_olivaw. The Harveys Christmas Ale (8.3% - drink with caution & by the half-pint) continues splendid & most inebriating. The company was of course even more splendid.

If I had a paid LJ, I would have a poll here. But I don't, so I request opinion in comments. We were deliberating the music to have around midnight on NYE. Pre-midnight: Electric Six "Gay Bar" (wine bar!), REM "It's The End Of The World..." (traditional but only because it's *right*). Followed by Big Ben (assuming that R4 get it *right* this year...). But what to have after? It clearly needs to be bouncy. Current top candidate: punk version of Auld Lang Syne, if we can find one. Pixies "Debaser" as back-up. We want two. Suggestions Please.

Right. Now to wrap Pete's other Xmas present, drink another pint & a half of H20, put the washing on the drying thingy, & pass out in bed. BED.

I'm fond of Star Industry's "Nineties" and Killing Joke's "Millennium", but I am a sad old goth :)
