Dec. 26th, 2003 01:41 pmChristmas was good. Got skiing kit from my parents, which I wasn't expecting but am very pleased with (for I am off to Saas Fe with
kitty_goth &
boyofbadgers in less than 3 weeks, & was thinking I'd have to beg/borrow/steal kit); also vast quantities of underwear/socks/tights etc, chocolate, book, candleholders, & other such. Wendy is about as broke as I am, so did drawings for everyone - & very good they are too. Mine is from a photo she took when she was in Canada; I'm going to have a look through my India photos when I get home & see if I can find a nice one for her to do for my birthday. My presents to folk were also appreciated, which is always good.
Christmas dinner was huge & ace. My lentil loaf recipe works just as well with split peas (Mum hadn't bought any lentils) which is nice to know. Spent the afternoon sitting around reading/knitting/watching the odd bit of TV. Bit bored by the evening, but then things did perk up somewhat as everyone began to rouse from digestion-induced stupor & actually *talk* a bit. It sounds like today we are planning to do the game-playing stuff, which should be fun. And then I'm off back to Bermondsey tomorrow.
kitty_goth &
shadow_jess phoned from the Middle East, so that was good. Due back on Monday, hurrah. Pete's family Christmas appears to have been about as stressful as usual, poor love. He's back on Sunday, so I get the house to myself for a *whole day*, which I am inordinately excited by. I really must make the effort to get more space to myself next year...
Think food (the traditional Xmas bubble-&-squeak) is on its way - I should go help.
