Went to see the second half of His Dark Materials on Friday night, with [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess, & Pete. Was good, although I preferred the first half. They did the Land of the Dead very well, I thought. But the ending suffered a bit from having large quantities of relevant information revealed in too much of a rush - it seemed like it was being set up for the tragic end a bit much. Having said that, it did make me cry anyway... (yes, I am a wuss when it comes to such things). Then Ben & I headed off to BMovie. Which was fun, & for the first time in months I actually managed to stay till the end. And then cycled home, which is about three times faster than getting the nightbus, & infinitely cheaper (I am currently using Pete's bike, due to the continuing absence of mine. Must phone insurance again...)

Went demonstrating on Saturday, which went rather well, even if I did have to wear a baseball cap. Ick. Then went to the PUB & got marginally ratted with [livejournal.com profile] mzdt, [livejournal.com profile] elleblue, [livejournal.com profile] greengolux, [livejournal.com profile] wintrmute, my colleague Anne, & her friend Rowan (a fellow Buffy fan, hurrah!). And talked about the West Wing lots. Pete more or less passed out cold in the taxi back to London Bridge, whoops. Wandered over to [livejournal.com profile] marnameow's, in a shocking grump (on the list of Things I Am Not Going To Go Into Right Now). Marna, bless her, pointed out that I was being irrational (which I was), gave me a hug, & put her nice shiny new Cats DVD on. Which cheered me up; as did the pizza which we then ordered.

Slept in Sunday, then was Useful (cleaning rat cage, tidying living room, putting washing on, etc etc). Then [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth came round (yay), & after he faffed at work & helped me put the ratcage back together, we went to Marna's for hair-cutting. I now have Shorter Hair again, & it's all fuzzy & stroky at the back, purr. Wandered off to LB for pizza mmm pizza. Then Pete & I went up to the Lux Gallery in Hoxton Square (cor) for a free Warp gig-thing. Except the person supposed to be DJing was ill, so someone else took over, & they were clearly a bit narked & just left the same irritating loop going "[something] fashion!" over&over&over for 15 SODDING MINUTES. But I looked at the pretty textile stuff (yer young designer types), & had a vodkaredbull, & it was all *terribly* poncy. And then we went home.

Was supposed to have rehearsal last night, but felt like crap so went home & vegged instead. But I have finished the top I was knitting, hurrah (am wearing it today, even), & Pete's jumper is coming on v well.

Half day today. Yay. Only another 50min & I can nick off home...

Sounds like it was a good thing I stayed off the alc at the pub then! hehe ;) Not that I had much more success with my day after that, but still..

is the campaign just making william hill a target for any reason other than it offers a good pun? why not corals or ladbrokes? anyone who goes into betting shops on a regular basis is a mug anyway. they need to get on betfair.com.

bollocks! you are saying they have lots of money so we can after some of it by blackmailing them. if they had none you wouldn't be getting any so you wouldn't bother. i understand your motives are good, but it is still a shake down.
