Where and when did you first hear of my name/see my work/'meet' me?
When IMSOC were figuring out a snogweb. There was this mythical Earlier Matriarch, pre-Kat, who dominated the top of the web. I was, obviously, intrigued. And then I met JDC, and discovered there was, in the mists of time, an IMSOC Helen Love crew. I was even more intrigued.

With what people/series/groups etc. do you associate me?
Primarily, IMSOC. But also the entire London thing. Even tho I've never seen you there.

If we've met in Real Life, where and, if you can recall, when?
Panic. A while back, a couple of times. The snogweb was expanded...

- Obviously, once I became embroiled in the web of IMSoc, your name was prevalent, as you were an ex-Prez when I joined. However, I'm not sure when I actually met you; and I doubt that I remembered exactly who you were when I did. At the time, there were scores of "old-school" peoples' identities to contend with, and to be honest I couldn't tell you when you actually fixed in my mind as "you".

- IMSoc, of course. Although you've become more known to me through LJ than through knowing you in Oxford.

- Well obviously our first meeting will have been at Panic. That goes without saying. As I said above - when, I couldn't say... sorry! :-)

I think it was only when daneel_olivaw took me to your party. And then that very afternoon, I was at a loose end and phoning people to see in London, and came up with dakeyras who was with a bunch of people, particularlyboingley and Lani and editor who were also going there.

i think it was when kitty_goth mentioned that he had a lovely new girlfriend! So probably soon after you and he started seeing each other.

With the technomentalists, Craft Hive Mind and kitty_goth, i suppose.

i see you lots! the first time was in the Blue Posts Newman Street sometime in summer, i think. the last time was last night at the rock and roll gig obv!

As I recall it was in the early years of last century, during the Boxer rebellion. I was on a secret diplomatic mission to the Empress Dowager, attempting to secure the safe release of our ambassador, then in Tientsin, and you had been touring Shandong to investigate the likely causes of the drought. Our friendship flourished, but was brought to a rapid end by the arrival of the international force, and the sack of the Forbidden City.

Consequently I most associate you with market communism, and inferior quality electronics.

1. In my first few days at Oxford I joined IMSoc. On the publicity material they thrust at me at Freshers Fair it said "Ex-President: julietk". Okay, not with LJ tags, but that was the gist of it.
2. That would be IMSoc again mostly. Panic, music, gigs, etc.
3. I think the first time I met you was in your Finals term, 'cause I remember you being very stressed at the time and talking very fast. :) Since then we have met in real life many many times, usually on music-related occasions, but I haven't seen nearly as much of you lately as I would like, because every time you throw a party or something I've been too ill/tired/stressy/lazy to go.

1) I think I was vaguely aware of you on oxnet since the late nineties.
2) I expect we have a bunch of computery oxford acquaintances in common, but I associate you with the vegan london crowd that I hear things about, too.
3) Only met you once IRL as far as I remember, and that was just last weekend!

I'm actually quite fascinated with this whole linkage thing, especially when I forget how I found people. I've a happy trend of a higher proportion of 'real' people on lj now, partly through either meeting them after internet stuff, or dragging them kicking and screaming on to lj. It's great to meet people, then easily stay in touch via lj; otherwise it can be six months or so until you cross paths again, and you've forgotten everything.

more or less concurrently; Open Guides & Jeays connections via beingjdc - first lj contact would have been finding jdc via the jeays interests list, and that you were there too.

knitting bisexual programmers, although I shouldn't really bandy that around (and extend it) as not everyone I associate with that group as all those traits.

First heard of you on ox.net, I guess; I associate you with IMsoc, earth.li and London people; I think I first saw you in David Morton's room in Pembroke's GAB, but didn't know who you were then - not sure when we first properly met.
