I am intending, at some point today, to do some very approximate correlation on the results of my reading poll. Although obv the poll was written in about 5 secs flat & with little consideration of research thingummy, so obviously it has 0 statistical value. BUT STILL.

This week, I have been using my mouse with my left hand, because I think I was getting a bit lopsided. It's still *weird*, but a lot less awkward than it was. Ambidextrousness!

Poll! (another from a series entitled 'Discussions Pete & I have on IM when we should be working are cleverly working & talking AT THE SAME TIME in an impressive demonstration of multitasking!')

[Poll #331886]

Also: I think Stephen Fry sums up my feelings on that second question admirably.

D'you know, I have no idea.

Is there one of those idiot savants on here who can work out in their head the day of the week of any given date? Or is there a calculator for it somewhere on the web? Date is 4/5/77 if anyone knows how.

And yes, I worked out which day I was born on using a SQL select statement.

I just typed "Monday November 1982" into Google on the basis that Id find something with a weekday and a date in it and could count forward or back from there.

Remembering from the last ten times somebody asked me that question and I had to look up the answer was, it seems, the less laborious of the two solutions I could think of. For shame.

bob wonders what this working hard thign is.

I can remember what day i was born since the story goes that my dad dropped my mum off at the hospital in the morning then went off to play rugby in the afternoon. he did make it back for the birth however.

Can I point out that the Fry and Laurie reference was mine and J is a pikey theftor?

You see, we'd gotten ranting about how "bonny and blithe and good and gay" is a lovely woody phrase whereas "fair and wise" is nasty New Labour revisionist formica, and I realised that we sounded worryingly like old men. And I figured that if we pretended we were sounding like Stephen Fry that might be marginally, just marginally, cooler.

I'm fair of face. In case anyone was unclear on the matter.

My mother always maintained that there must have been a time-slip in May 1972, for a less full-of-grace child you never met. I had chronic ear problems and as a result, no sense of balance whatsoever. Walking in a straight line was tricky enough, let alone being graceful. :)

[livejournal.com profile] smallclanger is also a Tuesday's child, although he was clearly aiming for Wednesday.

furrfu!

'blithe' and 'wise' don't even mean the same!

I had the laziest way so far of finding out - double clicked the computer clock in the bottom right hand corner to bring up the calendar, changed the month to November 1982, innit.

Funnily enough, Tuesday's child is apparently full of "Grace", and Grace is what I'd have been called if I were a lass...

Ah I knew I was Saturday, because I asked my mum if I was born on Friday 13th when I was little.

I know it's a Friday because I was born on Friday 13th.

I know I was born on a Thursday because Thursday nights were my dad's darts night, and I made him miss his darts! I was born at 7pm on the dot. Which meant he could make it to the pub in time for his mates to get him right royally paralytic afterwards.
