Am at [livejournal.com profile] marnameow & [livejournal.com profile] sbp's, staying up to watch the election results, which is causing me Trauma. Marna has, however, made Fantastic Chilli, & Sean has been nice about my hair. Pete was nice cooking-dinner-person earlier, as well. I intend to wait till 4 (and see California called) & then give up & go to bed, & I don't actually expect to have a final result by then. Thumbs crossed for Kerry, anyway...

Whitby was ace - proper writeup to follow, but to summarise: the lovely [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth & I had champagne up at the Abbey again (it may be a poncey tradition, but it's a good one); met assorted new people who were nice; caught up again/spent time with many non-new people who were also nice; much fun at party on Sat night; didn't think much of any of the bands (surprise...); danced until my feet fell off at Laughton's on Sun night; bought FUZZY YARN at the nice yarn shop; put in blue hairfall thingys on Saturday (scary & disturbing). And I like the Avalon very much, for they make me vegan breakfast & look after my soya milk for me. Small quantity of photos available here.

Staying up for election is probably foolish given that I couldn't sleep at all last night after getting back from Whitby. This was not pleasant and led to me not managing to get to work. Slept most of the day, though, & a bit more between dinner & coming over here at midnight, so feeling a lot better now. Sleep soon, anyway.

Am absolutely frazzled by the way things are going. Allan Lichtman proving to be an utter star, though.

Also frazzled and fretted! I am resorting to coffee-making.

I am resorting to b33r. Special occasion and that.

This is worse than '92. At least we knew by this point that it was all screwed.

I've already resorted to wine. Coffee the antidote.

I am so so glad I've warned work about my election-watching plans.

I've got tomorrow off, thank the absence-of-gods.

I understand that I am expected to crawl in at some point, but 3pm is OK.

I think we're not going to know until tomorrow now. New Mexico is uncallable until then, and I strongly suspect Ohio is going to Kerry and Florida to Bush.

I hope you're right about Ohio. If you are, Kerry should be OK unless he loses Wisconsin, which is looking a bit iffy at the moment. Florida I think he's stuffed - 4% down with 18% left to count leaves him needing almost 2/3 of the remaining votes.

He's down in WI, but there's been nothing at all from such as Milwaukee. He's pissed it in Pennsylvania though - winning that state with a 19% margin.

Oi, and you should have been watching with me and Pete (and bed-departed Juliet and sheep). THen there are people to make bad faces at.

Aye. I kind of assumed that you wouldn't be staying up on account of post hospital and Whitby tiredness. Silly of me, really.

Fuck, Florida called for Bush.

But I am Election Junkie! Although normally I get paid for to stay up. I should have mentioned it, though. I think I would not be able to sleep, anywhichway.

So much so that David Dimbleby keeps calling him "Alan Rickman". As for his dodgy tie, well, didn't the great Bob Mackenzie have a few of those?
