Yesterday, I got to go to watch the Standing Committee for the Hunting Bill, in the Commons. Going into the Commons was pretty exciting, even if they did get concerned that the bike lights in my pocket were some kind of terrorist device (apparently, there's so many different types of bike light that the machine-operaters don't get used to seeing them). The Committee itself was - interesting, in a dull kind of way. I did get very aerated at the pro-hunt Tories who took up most of the morning bashing on and ON AND ON - but at least my blood pressure is low to start with, so it wasn't actively unhealthy. Glad I went along, but *very* glad that I'm not either of my 2 colleagues who've had to sit through all of it! If anyone else has an interest in such things - Standing Committee sessions are open to the public, and the Hunting Bill ones are Tuesdays & Thursdays for the next couple of weeks. You too can see Democracy In Action!. And then I went briefly to the office, & then to the doctor & the hairdresser & did a bit of work at home.
Today I have mostly been stuffing envelopes. What fun.
