Bits & pieces

This week, I have mostly been feeling a little drained & useless, especially at work :-/ However, I have just discovered that a) I have 4 leave days left, & b) I have to take these before the end of January, so I shall have some lovely time off in the next couple of weeks. Hurrah. I am hoping that it is just weariness, and a few days of rest & not-doing-much will recharge me a little.
Noticed whilst cycling in today: the length of time it takes for my ears to go numb & stop hurting is also the length of time it takes for the rest of me to become warm (in that exciting way which involves being really very cold at the same time), as well as the length of time it takes for me to stop thinking about where the nearest tube station is and just exactly how daft, or not-daft, it would be just to cycle there & abandon this whole 'bike' nonsense for the morning. However, the stage at which I most seriously contemplate this latter is when about to turn onto Tower Bridge Road heading to the Bricklayers' Arms, at which point I am a fair distance away from any tube station at all, and even further from any useful one.
I do like cycling, in general; it's just cold at the moment, and that makes the whole business harder work. Mornings are not meant for the undertaking of healthful exercise; they are meant for staying in bed, dammit.
BU on Tuesday night was fun; good to get to talk to various people. Had a date with
ergotia last night, but sadly she wasn't terribly well :-( Was good to see her, & the rest of St R's inhabitants, anyway, though.
Tonight I will be staying in and painting things. Lucky me.
