I was anticipating a nice quiet week, due to the absence of [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth & [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess, but it appears not entirely to have happened. Been *fairly* calm, though - couple of evenings at home, couple of evenings out but only in London Bridge which hardly counts.

Stayed in with Pete on Tuesday & watched "O Brother" on DVD. Also there was marrow curry (we got several marrows in our boxes from the nice organic food delivery people over the last couple of weeks. I don't know all that many things to do with marrow). Both of these things were good. Wednesday there was CURRY & BEER with my sister, [livejournal.com profile] marnameow, [livejournal.com profile] sbp, [livejournal.com profile] atommickbrane, [livejournal.com profile] boyofbadgers, & [livejournal.com profile] ali_anarres. Which was also good. Wendy has now got enough teaching work for the term to cover her rent, food, & a very very small amount of spending money. Hurrah. This means that any freelance etc stuff she gets (which is what she's actually after) is extra, sort of thing, which is a Good Thing. And also she won't starve, similarly a Good Thing.

Yesterday I mostly stayed in, watched Buffy episodes, hacked a bit (nothing terribly exciting), knitted a bit (similarly non-exciting). It was all rather pleasant. Good though the hectic whirl etc etc can be, it's been nice to have a bit less hecticness for the week. Especially since work has been pretty damn hectic (grrr).

Is it hometime yet? Probably nearly enough to skive off, actually...

I believe there's a way of making an alcoholic drink out of marrows, involving sugar and adding spirits of some sort (rum?) to make it ferment, but I wouldn't recommend it - my parents tried it once and it stank out the back room for a month.
