Work has been 'orrible busy for the last couple of weeks (I am in the throes of the Great Upgrade which is going mostly fine but is at the stage of being a bit tedious, & I still have 2 weeks of upgrades/installs to go. However one of my users said on Wednesday that I'm great, so that cheered me up).
On the upside, there has also been a certain amount of fun, so it's not all bad.
sbp's party last weekend + lots of sitting around with beer & people; went to a v nice restaurant on Mill St with
kitty_goth on Tuesday; excellent dinner & conversation at
djm4 &
lizw's on Thursday; BMovie last night where there was, as ever, both the dancing & the conversation varieties of enjoyment, & very enjoyable it all indeed was. Plus I got to wear my new skirt which I've spent much of my free time in the last week making, hurrah.
And
dogrando arrived back home from Floridia this morning, which is self-evidently also a Good Thing (the rats are pleased as well; I think they've been v bored not having anyone around in the daytime). Although this occurred at 0930 so I am a bit sleepy now. It is possible that an Afternoon Nap is indicated. Once it gets to afternoon, anyway.

Date: 2006-03-11 01:44 pm (UTC)It's a pleated skirt - 4 widish pleats both front & back, & about 3-4" above the knee. Made out of tartan (red/blue/black) stuff that Ben brought me back from Africa. It has an actual waistband which I've not tackled before (hadn't tried pleats, either, but they were reasonably straightforward) as previously I've constructed the sort of skirt that just stops & sits on your hips. A New Look pattern.

Date: 2006-03-11 03:40 pm (UTC)My current fabric challenge is finding something I can make with all the odds and ends of material I have hanging around. I've got so much I don't really want to go buying more, but it's hard to find things to do with it.
