Good thing about so few people being in the office: I can get away with listening to 6Music (only one side of the headphones, so I don't miss the phone, but that's still good). It cheers me up lots. I may try this next year anyway - after all, this room is the only one where people don't regularly have the radio on anyway (7 people in here, unlikely to be able to agree on music; plus we're all on the phone half the time).
Also, it is generally good to have less *noise* in here. I've been able to catch up on lots of things.

Date: 2003-12-23 09:14 am (UTC)I have a pair of Etymotic ER-4Ps for travelling and using with portable music (currently the iPod I got for my birthday this summer) since they block out almost all external sound while still sounding very good - no babies screaming on planes, no annoying conversations on trains.
For work, I use a pair of Sennheiser HD580s since they're an open design so I can still hear things close around me (like the phone). I work with headphones on most of the time, since one of my cow-orkers iacross the room can't work with music in the background.

Hurrah, they're playing the Pet Shop Boys ("You Are Always On My Mind", or whatever it's called).
