This post has been hanging around half-finished since Monday. Whoops.

Friday )

[livejournal.com profile] wicker_girl & [livejournal.com profile] alabaster_ocean showed up whilst I was still in the bath recuperating & covering myself with glitter (whoops), but dealt with this admirably by digging into the Special Cake whilst waiting for me to appear & fulfill my hostly duties. A handful more people were collected between the two halves of Hotel Bermondsey, & we headed off to Stay Beautiful.

I cannot decide whether I liked SB in new venue or not. The music was *way* worse than the last time in the Islington Bar. The shininess of the venue was quite nice, but the room with the dancefloor was like a sodding sauna (because of the place being underground, I guess), & the seats are hugely uncomfortable. Um. Not sure. Might give it another go next month. Had a fun night anyway, due primarily to the excellent company, of course :-)

Sunday )

this week )

Tonight: the Proms with [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, [livejournal.com profile] shadow_jess, & Pete. Gallery, meeting outside Door 10 around 1900-1915, if anyone else fancies coming along. (hopefully it won't have sold out by then; jess & I can't make it earlier).
Tomorrow: BiCon, though I have to go to a meeting in Horsham (insert here rant about the bloody RSPCA) first, so won't be there till 1430 or so. Might be slightly nervous. Um.

Actually, the feeding part is pretty much essential.

In case there's anyone out there who's known me for more than a week or so & *hasn't* noticed this: if I don't get a nice solid lump of something carb-heavy about every 8 hours, I have a tendency to break, often quite impressively. If I seem wobbly, or weepy, or irrational, enquire whether I've eaten. If not, dig out the emergency hula hoops (ready salted) & point me in the direction of something like pasta. In extreme cases, I collapse on the floor & have to be cooked for, but I am *trying* to keep an eye on my blood sugar & not let it get that far.

That'll do for the moment. Other suggestions/comments welcome :-)
