Shiny things!
May. 16th, 2003 07:04 pmI have a shiny new phone, hurrah. It's a Nokia 8310 & it is *tiny* & cute.
Nice osteopath student person attacked my back for me. Some improvement now, although still pretty achey, but then if I *will* let things get that far... It should be better more tomorrow, & then I'm going back next week for a second session. I much preferred seeing the student, in fact, to seeing a qualified osteopath, because she & her tutor were discussing what was wrong with me & why, which was of course all v interesting (the short version: my back is fucked). They were suitably impressed by the horrible knottiness of my back/shoulder muscles. (bah, want a massage now).
Took bloody ages, though, & what with that & having to go buy stuff for tomorrow (teaching) (yes & did buy phone as well, admittedly), I wasn't able to fit in the work I was supposed to be doing at home this afternoon so will have to do it on Sunday afternoon. Bother.
I have a Quandary. I've decided that it might help for the kids tomorrow to be able to keep track of their scores in a couple of the games we'll be playing by using counters or similar, rather than just a piece of paper. But I couldn't find anything suitable in the shopping centre. I was thinking something like tiddlywinks or poker chips (except poker chips are expensive). Any suggestions for things I might have around the house that they could use? Otherwise it'll just have to be paper, I guess.
DINNER now. Haven't cooked anything in ages, it should be fun.

I even *actually paid for it* rather than just getting the available free upgrade (was still an upgrade & thus not vastly expensive, mind).
You are clearly an individual of good taste.

Date: 2003-05-16 12:49 pm (UTC)Rice is an option. We have rice. Hrm. Trying to decide whether dealing with 10 12yrolds & a lot of rice is a bad idea. I might take it along & see how well they're behaving :-)

Date: 2003-05-17 09:36 am (UTC)Works well, except that if you do well, you practically end up ODing. Kind of like an auto-handicap system really.

Date: 2003-05-18 04:03 am (UTC)back stretches...
Date: 2003-05-19 04:23 am (UTC)For upper back, sit on your heels on the floor, bend forward at the waist, and stretch your arms in front of you whislt pretty much getting your chin on the floor. Hold it for 15 seconds minimum (and *don't* bounce-stretch!!).
for lower back its harder to describe - might show on wednesday if drunk / silly enough
