Anyone know of any charity that can take old (but still working) computers, monitors, etc? The computers are I think around Pentium 2 or thereabouts; the monitors are standard sorts of monitors.

A quick google has found Computers for Charity & Computers for Charities (the latter is a charity itself & appears to have some base requirements; it seems that the former isn't and doesn't). Anyone know anything about either?

I also suspect that if anyone wants an elderly computer/monitor, & can collect from South Ken (Imperial College, specifically), then they're likely welcome to one, though I'd have to check with Ivan (boss).

I've often thought that having some sort of charity for old computer bits would be a good - there must be plenty of people with parts or complete machines that are not worth the effort to sell (I have my own collection of computer bits aging in the corner), but are still perfectly reasonable machines and conceivably useful to either someone who is short on money or perhaps has a use for a spare machine. The only time I've seen computers in charity shops is ancient 8 bit stuff though.

There's a shop at the end of my road which sells second hand computers, and they seem to collect from businesses, so maybe there's a shop of that sort in London that would be willing to collect a load of computers.
